A Firm Foundation
In the fall of 1959, after years of planning, a group of dedicated parents from area Reformed churches opened the doors of a new Christian school for their children. They felt a sense of responsibility to God, a sacred agreement or covenant with Him. These parents wanted to “train up their children in the way they should go” (Prov. 22:6), engaging in spiritual formation together. Their commitment extended to academic training as well, heeding Christ’s call in Matthew 22:37 to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” These founders understood that the spiritual and intellectual facets of education are not meant to compete with each other; rather they bear equal weight and importance in producing responsible, effective citizens of God’s Kingdom.
Over the past 5 decades, San Jose Christian School has held tightly to these core principles. The Lord has blessed the school with students, teachers, parents, administrators, and board members who lived out this mission in a very tangible way. We thank our heavenly father for His undying provision, and we celebrate the historical success of SJCS. To God be the glory!
Annual Financial Drive
The world looks much different than it did back in 1959, but our purpose in Christian education remains the same. Accomplishing our mission in today’s world requires both a shared commitment and the financial means to carry out our duty.
The annual fund drive at SJCS supports the operating budget and allows the school to keep tuition costs as low as possible while retaining its quality teachers and staff. School funds allow families with demonstrated need to experience the benefits of tuition assistance as well.
If you are interested in donating to the Annual Financial Drive, please contact Tanya Garside in the school office or via email at tgarside@sjchristian.org.
